Dave Brewer
Dave Brewer is the founder and CEO of BC Networks, and brings a
wealth of over twenty years of experience managing small and
large-scale high-performance IT systems. He is
personally involved in all facets of customer interaction including
professional services, technical pre-sales and customer support.
Previously, Mr. Brewer was one of the founding members of iBEAM
Broadcasting (NAS:IBEM), as VP of Operations, Dave was
responsible for Operations, Network Operations/Security,
Facilities & Customer Service. His technical leadership
pioneered the development of the first CDN (Content Deliver
Network) to distributed Streaming Media content via Satellite to
ISP's located at the edge of the internet.
During this time he directed the planning and deployment of a
world-class ATM network backbone from its initial architecture
to go live broadcast production globally. He oversaw the
deployment of the $100m distributed nationwide network and $5m
network operations center with distributed locations in 11 data
centers, and over 150 ISP POP's nationwide.
Prior to iBEAM, Mr. Brewer established Brewer Consulting in 1989
as a network consulting practice focused on the implementation, development
and deployment of next generation networks leveraging technology, which
included the deployment and support of over 4000 nodes with over
200 clients. It was during this time that he developed the
vision for pioneering BC Networks advanced Managed Services Platform.

Joseph Thurman
Joseph Thurman is the VP of Operations at BC Networks. He
formally joined the firm in November of 2000 after working with
BCN, as both a client and as a consultant, since the early
1990’s. His
responsibilities include managing the Helpdesk, Network
Operations Center (NOC), and Customer
Service.
Prior to BC Networks, Mr. Thurman was Sr. Director of Network Operations
at iBEAM Broadcasting (NAS:IBEM). There he led the strategic
direction and oversaw the construction of its NOC, terrestrial
and satellite data networks and distributed data centers.
He was responsible for a staff of 70 engineers and for
coordinating research, planning and implementation of all facets
of network operations. This included technology architecture,
capacity planning, digital hierarchy, data transport, switching,
physical and logical layers, facility requirements and
maintenance, collocation standards, security, network management
systems, backup, forecasting, budgeting, and network
documentation.
Mr. Thurman brings to BC Networks a wealth of knowledge gained from over
two decades of experience in corporate IT Management and Network
Architecture. He has worked with some of Silicon Valley’s best,
including Teledyne MEC,
Ultratech Stepper,
InfoWorld Media Group
and iBEAM Broadcasting. Additionally, Corporate and Educational
Campus and Data Center construction projects with DPR, Gilbane
and South Bay Construction. Mr. Thurman completed undergraduate
requirements in Business Administration at the University of
Washington, and has industry certifications from Microsoft,
Novell, HP-Compaq, 3COM and APICS.

Darren Capell
Darren Capell is the Director of Professional Services for BC
Networks, with over 16 years of experience in the Silicon
Valley's IT community.
He is responsible for the management of Engineering and Architecture aspects
at BC Networks. He has experience working
in startup companies, as well as corporate environments, and has
been involved with in-house IT, as well as outsourced consulting
throughout his tenure.
During this time he designed, implemented and managed large
scale hosting facilities that included arrays of blade servers, SAN storage arrays, fibre
fabrics, virtual environments, complex e-mail infrastructures,
database environments and web portals. Darren has experience
managing multiple complex ongoing projects along with the staff and vendors
involved.
He is a graduate of the Orfalea College of Business at
California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, CA, where he
earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Mr.
Capell is a proud Veteran of the United States Navy Reserves
with more than 8 years of service.

Paul Harrington
Paul Harrington is the Network Architect at BC Networks, joining the firm in
October of 2004. He has spearheaded network architecture
development, new technology adoption, is responsible for product
and vendor management and is responsible for inside sales
activities.
Prior to BC Networks, Mr. Harrington was Director of Marketing at
3UP
Systems, a pioneer in blade server technology. Mr. Harrington led
all marketing efforts, including technical product definition,
of a market leading blade OEM platform co-developed with Inventec. He initiated and developed the product market
definition, and technical marketing specifications under the OEM
partnership. Inventec today is a world leading blade server
OEM/ODM with customers from the Fortune 500, including
Hewlett-Packard.
Mr. Harrington was previously the Executive Director of
Network Architecture and Planning at iBEAM.
There he played a principal role in the strategic
development of their $100m global network infrastructure.
This infrastructure stretched out to over 160 network
locations worldwide, connected by satellite, and augmented with
an MPLS-tiered network for their proprietary global Streaming
Media Network (SMN). He led the Network and Strategic
Architecture Group in the design, development and deployment of
a national ATM/MPLS network, meeting
strict production commitments. His group recruited and built a
technical team composed of Satellite Engineers, Telco Analysts,
Network Engineers and Provisioning Analysts. He oversaw the
management of two groups, Network Architecture & Planning and
Provisioning, as well as eight key vendors: Cisco, Nortel,
Lucent Technologies, Skystream, Exodus, UUNet, Equinix and
AboveNet. He initiated and developed strategic alliances that
added tangible value to the company.
